Overview

Our Singles Ministry is comprised of an exceptionally diverse group of people. Some are fresh out of college, some have never been married and still others are single again. But all of them work together for the specific and focused purpose of service and devotion to the great God of heaven.

As with the other ministries, our Singles support the Meridian Woods mission to Reach Up, Reach In and Reach Out. They do this as a support group for each other designed to keep both young and seasoned adults engaged in fellowship, evangelism, ministry works and service projects directed at the community.

This group of Christians has set several goals that guide the things they have made plans for. Among those goals are a desire to create a strong nucleus within this support group and through that increase involvement among all the single members of the congregation. Additionally they want to encourage spiritual growth in each other and build the numbers within the group.

There is a strong desire to find a connection with other single Christians in the greater Tallahassee community as well as throughout the southeastern United States. In short, they want to be known as a group of Christians who put their faith into practice and who reach out to others who are experiencing the same struggles they are.

The Leaders

Acting as coordinators for this vibrant aspect of the work at Meridian Woods are Reginald Minor and Randey Burnett. These gentlemen, accompanied by others associated with the Singles Ministry form a network within the congregation that ensures an opportunity for growth within the group.

What's needed

Public recognition of the work that is being accomplished by these single members is important to the continued success of this ministry. Whether it's in the form of announcements in our assemblies, reminders in the bulletin or just word of mouth information being passed, the events and activities need to be publicized.

Additionally, if you are a single member with good organizational skills, this ministry is looking for you and your leadership. As with all of our ministries, your prayers and words of encouragement are requested as we move together through our life in Christ.

What's coming up

The list of opportunities for involvement is almost unlimited. However, some very specific activities have been planned for this year as the Singles continue their service to God, each other and the community.

Plans have already been finalized for a trip to Jacksonville and the Singles Conference that is held there in late February. Information is also being gathered so that together, our singles can enjoy a three-hour dinner cruise on along the Florida Gulf Coast (sounds like the makings of a new TV Series).

Several social gatherings are being planned throughout the year as well as ongoing weekly activities that help to build relationships and bind us more closely together.

We have all been challenged to seek out and teach at least one person the gospel of Jesus this year. As Christians we feel a responsibility to help others enjoy the fellowship with God that we are currently experiencing.

Additionally, we plan to keep in close contact with each single member of Meridian Woods so that we can rejoice together over the victories that are being experienced in our personal lives.

If you are single and a member at Meridian Woods but haven't yet gotten involved in our Soul Seekers group, now is a great time to begin. Please let us get to know you better and walk with you as we all seek to be more like our Savior.
